How can I measure my internet speed for free?

Simply click the "Start Test" button above. Our free internet speed test measures your download speed, upload speed, and latency in seconds. No registration, no app downloads, no limits – test as many times as you need. Get accurate results powered by Cloudflare CDN.

How fast is my internet connection?

Click "Start Test" to measure your current internet speed. The test measures download speed (how fast you receive data), upload speed (how fast you send data), and latency (response time). Results are shown in Mbps (megabits per second).

What is a good download speed for gaming?

For gaming, you need at least 25 Mbps download speed. However, latency (ping) matters more than speed for gaming. Aim for under 50ms ping for smooth gameplay. Upload speed of 5+ Mbps is sufficient for most games.

What download speed do I need for 4K streaming?

Netflix recommends 25 Mbps for 4K Ultra HD streaming. For HD streaming, 5 Mbps is sufficient. Multiple devices streaming simultaneously require higher speeds - add about 5-25 Mbps per additional stream.

Why is my internet slow?

Common causes: 1) Too many devices using bandwidth, 2) WiFi interference or distance from router, 3) Old router or modem, 4) ISP throttling during peak hours, 5) Outdated network drivers. Try running the test at different times to identify patterns.

How do I test my upload speed?

Our test automatically measures upload speed by sending data to our server. Upload speed is important for video calls, live streaming, cloud backups, and uploading files. Most connections have slower upload than download speeds.

What affects my internet speed?

Speed is affected by: your ISP plan limits, WiFi vs wired connection, router quality and age, distance from router, number of connected devices, time of day (peak hours), and network congestion in your area.

How accurate are online speed tests?

Our test connects to Cloudflare global CDN servers for accurate measurements. Results may vary slightly from your ISP speed due to server distance. For best accuracy, use a wired connection, close other apps, and test multiple times.

What is the difference between Mbps and MBps?

Mbps (megabits per second) measures internet speed. MBps (megabytes per second) measures file transfer speed. 8 Mbps = 1 MBps. So 100 Mbps download speed means you can download at about 12.5 MBps.

Is this speed test free?

Yes, 100% free with no limits. Test your speed as many times as you want. No signup, no ads, no app downloads required.

100% client-side processing. Your test results are not stored or shared.
